The Boston Celtics have drafted Cobb County native Jaylen Brown with the number three pick in the 2016 NBA Draft.

When Brown was leading Wheeler High School to a state basketball championship, it was clear that he had a bright future ahead of him.

The 6-foot, 7-inch forward attended the University of California for a year, and had a standout season on the court. He averaged 14.6 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Brown, who hit the game-winning free throws in the state championship just 15 months ago, was expected to be drafted early by many in the 2016 NBA Draft.

“I’m super excited to get to whatever city I go to and just dive right in,” Brown said.
